Texturing is the process of introducing crimps into filaments.
Use in the textile industry
Textured yarns are used primarily in the production of knitted fabrics, hosiery, and fleece and sportswear. Texturing produces a more voluminous character, improved stretch, and a more comfortable feel compared to untextured filament yarns. Texturing is also used in technical textiles where increased surface roughness or capillary action is desired.
