Definition
A device used to apply lamination coatings. The die extends across the full width of the textile, and the coating compound is discharged through a slot.
Use in the textile industry
Slot die coaters are used in the textile industry to apply adhesives, coating compounds, or laminating media uniformly and without interruption across the full fabric width. Typical applications include the production of composite materials, laminated nonwovens, and coated technical textiles. Slot application enables a uniform basis weight of the applied compound and is particularly suited to continuous production processes.
