Definition
A mesh conveyor belt is an endless conveyor belt made of a perforated or open-woven material that features a large number of uniformly distributed openings. These openings allow the controlled passage of air, water, steam, or fine particles while the material being conveyed is transported on the belt surface. Mesh conveyor belts are manufactured from various materials, including polyester, polyamide, or metal woven fabric, and are engineered to meet the specific thermal, chemical, and mechanical requirements of the process.
Use in the textile industry
In the textile industry, mesh conveyor belts are used primarily in drying systems, heat-setting machines, and nonwoven production lines where a uniform flow of hot air through the fabric web is required. They are also used in washing and dewatering units where process water must be drained through the belt without damaging the textile. The mesh aperture size and opening dimensions of the belt are matched to the basis weight and structure of the material being conveyed.
